Where are you Springtime?

I'm at the point in the year when I just can't stop thinking about how good sunshine would feel - longing for jacket free days and full days spent outside. On a snowy, icy day like today it's hard to remember that Spring is just a couple weeks away. Here's some things to get you in the mood for your world to turn green and warm again. 

Wild Folk Studio, opened by Caroline O'Donnell uses locally sourced flowers to make the most beautiful arrangements, and they can even be delivered once a week if you want! (I want!!)

Patio season is coming! Here are a few of my all time favorites in the city: Sam's, B&G Oysters, Harvest, and the old classic Parish Cafe

Spring cleaning? Here's a great way to organize some of the things that feel like they never find their way home.

Invest in a new pair of sunnies. I love these for the ladies and these for the fellas - don't you always feel ten times cooler in a great pairs of shades?

Get a new picnic/beach blanket, this one will make you look like the coolest person in the Commons. 

Also, The Great Gatsby movie is finally going to come out in May, and I can't wait any longer!

We signed up for a local CSA this year, and I can't wait to start getting fresh veggies from Boston's last working farm - Allandale Farm. 

This lip crayon will also give you the perfect pink lip! And even better - Tarte is all natural and great for your lips.

Get Excited!

This is the little "front yard"next to our building how wonderful is it to see the first signs of spring? April ushers in a time of the first really sunny warm days that remind me the best is yet to come!

I just got my first adult bicycle to ride around the city, made by Public Bikes! I am super excited about it! It's so sleek and urban it makes me feel like I am officially a city lady.

Springtime in Boston means a lot of things are happening for the people who have been hibernating indoors all winter long:

• Fenway Park Season Opener - the 100th anniversary is a big one and I am sure the whole city will be celebrating our beloved Ball Park! 
• Outdoor patios officially open for drinks and dining - I can't wait to get over to Sweet Cheeks for some BBQ and Mason jars! 
• Umbrellas all over the city, I think there is something so beautiful about them but I've always loved the rainy days (must be because I am an April baby) I love this J. Crew Animal Print Umbrella, and it would definitely stop the boyfriend from taking mine to work! 
• Farmer's Markets - so fresh fruit to make delicious baked goods as gifts. I just made this Buttermilk blueberry breakfast cake and it was out of this world. 
• All the lucky gardeners grab their wheel barrows and start to get their plots ready at the Fenway Victory Gardens and I anxiously await to strike up conversations to learn more about how to take care of my window boxes. 

Enjoy your first signs of Spring, embrace it, and get outside! Vitamin D does the body good!

Comes In Like A Lion

Greetings Earthlings!

March is here, it's hard to believe... this year is flying by at an intense speed and I can't help but get that mucky feeling that time is slipping away and maybe life isn't progressing as quickly as time is. My time at the organization where I started my career is winding down, it's hard to believe that I will no longer be the keeper of the database fixes, event trouble-shooter, fundraising stickler, joke teller of 77 4th Avenue any longer. I have learned so much from my time in the office, and I really will miss the people I have spent the last couple of years with. But to quote Tom Petty it's time to move on... time to get going. (You are lying if you say you don't like that song) 

The picture above was taken by the boyfriend this past weekend in Woodstock, VT. My grandmother turned 76, and while this has been a very difficult year for her as you can see above she can still do the can-can!

Enough about me! Here are some wonderful things to do as we embark on the month that means spring is around the corner: 

As I mentioned above we have been spending some time in Vermont as of late and Woodstock is a particularly gorgeous little town... if you ever find yourself there I would recommend:

• The Spa at the Woodstock Inn  they have this outrageous area outside that is breathtaking and so comfortable
• We have had some difficulty with booking reservations, but the food really is outrageous so I still suggest checking out Osteria Pane e Salute. I would just go when they first open and sit down for a nice quiet meal
• Also I just can't through the spring with out a great light weight jacket and I have been eyeing this one from Emerson Fry (but lets be honest I'd love one of everything from the whole line!)
• This scarf is also absolutely amazing! The print with that E. blazer and some dark jeans would just me amazing - sigh - someday
• Also I adore these boots they are so utilitarian but still beautiful and wearable! (They also have company philosophy I can get behind and it just makes me want to buy everything they sell)
