One Last Ride for the Bride

Here's a few things you should know about me - I love group activities - & I love custom t shirts.. So when Colleen's Bachelorette party planning kicked off it was like a perfect storm of everything I enjoy. The party was last weekend and it was so great to get together a group of awesome women to celebrate the marriage of one of our closest friends!

I used Custom Ink to make the T's and they were wonderful - seriously I can't say enough wonderful things about them! I stalked their customer service because I was nervous we wouldn't get them in time and they were so wonderful and I don't think hated me at all! I would have totally hated me so that worked out well.

More on the party planning after the jump...

So, here's the typical Single friend prior to getting married dilemma (this goes for gents and ladies)

Who pays? For what? How much? How does it work?

Here's what I did, and for the most part it worked really well:

I used my paypal account had everyone use their debit or credit cards to put the total cost for the party towards me, and then on the weekend used my debit card to pay for everything we did - so no one ever spent a dime on the actual weekend... we ran up running a little bit over but it was expected and well worth it - just make sure you have a little bit of a buffer to offset. It can also get a little tense around making sure everyone pays before the weekend, but hey! We're all friends here!

Another friend told me about how she went to a party that the MOH put everyone on payment plans - so every month she would mail a check or cash to the MOH for like 20$ and then before the party everyone had to be paid up - I thought this was genius! A lay-away plan for a party!

What about you guys? Have you ever planned one of these weekends? What worked best for you?
