The event was really wonderful, everything ran smoothly the kids and families were happy and smiling, and on a deeper level the riders really connected with their cause. When I tell people that I work with Pediatric Oncology patients and their families people react in all different ways. Some people tell me about some one they lost, others ask how they can help, some say "Wow, that's a tough job - I could never do it," and some hug me and say "Thanks." Whatever the reaction, I always tell people the same thing, it is impossible to not be full of love and happiness when I am around these families. The fact that these parents share their children with us is nothing short of a miracle! I am proud of the way the program has grown, and that the kids love it enough to come back even when they are in remission.
Before the jump, I can't help but remind everyone to donate to the Pan-Massachusetts Challenge! Every single penny you donate goes directly to cancer research and treatment at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute - make a difference today. You can always make a general donation by clicking here or if you know someone who is riding please make a donation to him or her today! If you want to take a look there are more photos of the party after the jump!
How cute is this sign that the kids made? (Wanted to take it home and frame it) |
