I've Gone To Look For America

So here are a couple of pictures from our trip... My suggestion to anyone looking to see some beauty - take a drive through the good old US of A it is one stunning country.

Please listen to this as well:

Pictures after the jump:

The first stop was to see my Grandma and Grandpa in Albany... they live in the perfect little yellow house, and the have things like this hanging in their bathroom. They are beautiful people and I couldn't imagine a better send off part then hugs and kisses from the two of them and my Pa Pa's famous spaghetti and meatballs...
From the little yellow house in Albany, NY straight to Cleveland, Ohio. It is true what they say, Cleveland rocks and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is amazing... Above you see an original draft of Hunter Thompson's "Fear and Loathing"... told you it was awesome. If you want to see more pictures from the Hall of Fame, let me know.

We were in Wisconsin and didn't even know it - Regardless we made this wonderful pit stop at an antique mall, made friends with strangers walked away with some cool finds and more importantly - the owner offered me a job... so I've got that going for me.

On to the field of dreams... it is as beautiful as it looks in the movie.. even with the rain.  We made it just before they closed for the day, you should go.. just be mindful of the cows crossing the road.
For what had to be 100 miles, we saw signs advertising the worlds only Corn Palace and we knew we couldn't miss it. We were on our way to the Bad Lands in South Dakota, but if going to the Corn Palace was wrong we didn't want to be right, as you can see above it was worth it. If you would like to purchase this photo for your album cover please contact me (Because let's be honest, it's that cool)

I debated putting a picture of the beautiful Badlands National Park because to be honest no picture could do it justice. Go there, stay until sunset, don't worry about driving at night - it's worth it.
D and I enjoying a South Dakota sunset, of course this is after we went to Wall Drug - if you have been to South Dakota... you know it.
The sun sets in the wild west

We sat in the car and warmed up after a chilly day spent outside roaming the badlands.. we weren't sure where we were going to end up that night... I googled a mid point between Wall, South Dakota and Dillon, Colorado (our final destination) and a little town named Alliance, Nebraska popped up. I did a search to see what was in the town and book a hotel... we stumbled across car henge... this photo was taken at 7 AM the spray painted cars in the formation of Stonehenge were covered in frost and we were the only people for miles, and it was glorious.

The beauty of Colorado met with the bittersweet end of one adventure and the beginning of another.
